How we work

Our approach to bespoke joinery projects

Due to the bespoke nature of our customers’ requests the very first step of any joinery project we undertake features comprehensive dialogue with the customer. Unless we truly understand our clients’ needs there’s simply no way we can hand-craft it for them! During the early stages of discussion and consultation we’ll demonstrate examples of our recent work to help customers decide exactly what they are looking for. We’re firm believers that sharing ideas and design concepts is the best starting point for any joinery project.

The beauty of what we do is that each of our customers have very different requirements: some are lovingly restoring period properties and keen to maintain heritage features, while others may want the very latest in contemporary design – perhaps inspired by something they’ve seen or a quirky idea they’ve had. Whether it’s a traditional or contemporary joinery project – or somewhere in between – we genuinely relish the challenge of making your dreams a reality.

Process

1 Discussion

Whatever your requirements, we’ll sit down with you to understand exactly what you’re looking for. As everything we hand-craft is 100% unique, we need to know your design’s intended purpose to enable us to specify the right style and materials for your project.

2 Design

Once we’ve got all the information we need, we’ll go away and put pen to paper on a range of potential design solutions. We’ll work with you until you agree on a design that ticks all the boxes for your project.

3 Quotation

After we’ve received approval on a design, we’ll put together a quotation for your project, covering the materials and our skilled joinery expertise.

4 Build

Our highly-experienced craftsmen will then produce your bespoke product using only the finest materials available within the agreed budget. You’ll never pay more than the agreed quote and you’ll even be invited to come to our workshop at key stages during the construction of the project.

5 Finishing

Wood is one of the most stunning natural materials, suitable for a plethora of home design solutions. We guarantee a flawless finished product that can be treated in order to protect and enhance those natural qualities.

At Church & Gooderham we’re ready and willing to undertake any bespoke joinery project; from complete renovations to a replacement sash window.
